Steve’s practice is primarily focused on aviation accident investigations and litigation.
He brings to the firm a unique and extensive aviation background. From 1975 to 1985, he served as a Naval Aviator in the United States Navy where he was a Plane Commander/Mission Commander on the P-3 Orion and achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
For several years he was a Boeing 737 Captain at People Express Airlines and from 1988 to the present, he has been an American Airlines Captain flying various aircraft, including the Boeing 767/757/727, the MD-11 and the MD-80. He is currently a Captain and Check Airman on the Boeing 757/767 in both the International and Domestic divisions. From 2002 to 2006 Steve served as the airline’s New York Base Chief Pilot.
He is a member of the Lawyer Pilots Bar Association and the Allied Pilots Association.
Steve has experience in the defense of airlines and military aircraft manufacturers in multi-district litigation and has participated in NTSB investigations and hearings, as well as FAA enforcement proceedings.
