NYCBA Aeronautics Committee, Chaired by Allison Surcouf, Will Host an Evening Celebrating the Role of Women in the Aviation Industry

The Aeronautics Committee of the New York City Bar Association, Chaired by Allison Surcouf, will be hosting an evening highlighting and celebrating the many roles of women in the aviation industry on May 5 from 6-8 p.m. at the Bar Association (42 West 44th Street, New York, New York).

Opening remarks will be given by Bonnie Caputo, the first female pilot of American Airlines (and the first female pilot of any major American commercial carrier); author of Takeoff: The Story of America’s First Woman Pilot for a Major Airline; and recipient of the National Women’s History Museum “Women Making History” Award.  A panel discussion moderated by Lea Gabrielle, Fox News journalist and correspondent and former Naval aviator, will follow.  The discussion will address women with a variety of experience in the aviation industry and cover topics such as how they began a career in aviation, their paths to where they are now, the challenges and benefits of a career in aviation.
