Isabel’s work encompasses all aspects of aviation and commercial litigation matters.
Isabel assists the firm’s aviation and aerospace clients and their insurers in civil litigation. She represents air carriers worldwide in cases involving wrongful death, personal injury, cargo damage and loss, and breach of contract matters. Her recent trial work includes working with the trial team in litigation arising from the crash of an Airbus 350B2 helicopter in New York’s East River while operated by Liberty Helicopters on March 11, 2018. The verdict from the Supreme Court of the State of New York in New York County is currently under review. Cadigan v. Liberty Helicopters, Inc., et al, 18-152286 (NY Sup. 2018).
Prior to joining the firm, Isabel clerked for Justice Manuel J. Mendez of the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division – First Department, drafting memoranda on commercial, class action, labor, and complex civil litigation cases before the Court. She also worked on a range of commercial litigation-related cases during her law school internships, including at the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General’s Securities Bureau, the New York City Comptroller’s Office of General Counsel, and for Judge Ann M. Donnelly of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
Isabel is a graduate of the Fordham University School of Law, where she was a Notes and Articles editor of the Fordham IP, Media, and Entertainment Law Journal. During law school, in addition to her internships, Isabel was a student advocate at the Securities Arbitration Litigation Clinic where she assisted clients in a FINRA tribunal proceeding and, separately, assisted in negotiations resulting in a major settlement against a securities broker for losses sustained by a retiree investor.
Isabel is a member of the New York City Bar’s Legal History Committee and the New York City Bar Association.
