Lisa B. Heller

Lisa’s practice is primarily focused on aviation accident investigations and litigation.

Having litigated in both State and Federal Courts throughout Florida, Lisa is a Florida Board Certified Aviation Practitioner who represents and advises airline clients in connection with all aspects of commercial disputes, civil litigation, appeals, labor and employment matters.

As an active commercial pilot since 1993, Lisa is currently flying as a 737 Captain for American Airlines. She is type rated on the Boeing 737, 757 and 767, and the Bombardier Canadair Regional Jet CL-65. Lisa was also a Boeing 727 flight engineer.

Lisa is a member of Women in Aviation International and, along with a small group of female airline pilots, sponsors the Keep Flying Scholarship to aspiring pilots in the U.S. and abroad. She is also a member of the Allied Pilots Association (APA) and a former member of the APA Appeal Board.  Lisa is a member of The Ninety-Nines: International Organization of Women Pilots (also known as The 99s), and the International Society of Women Airline Pilots (or ISA+21).

In 2020, Lisa was appointed to serve on the Florida Bar Association’s Aviation Law Committee which is dedicated to the study of recent developments of law, legislation and regulations in the field of aviation law.

Lisa also speaks conversational Spanish, French and Portuguese.
