Marshall S. Turner

Marshall concentrates his practice on product liability, aerospace litigation and alternative dispute resolution.

Marshall has extensive experience as lead counsel defending a variety of clients in product liability litigation, including aircraft and large ship manufacturers, military contractors, power plants and asbestos related claims.  He has a successful appellate practice and has made extensive use of alternative dispute resolution in matters involving contracts, aircraft accidents, corporate financing and secured transactions. Marshall has guided aircraft and component manufacturers through the maze of domestic and foreign certification requirements.  His aviation transactional and financing experience spans four decades and covers the gamut from small general aviation airplanes to windmill farms, large power plants and container ships. In the past year alone, Marshall has scored major victories for his clients by obtaining summary judgment dismissals for: a general aviation aircraft manufacturer (SDNY, 2d Cir.); an international airline (SDNY); and a major ship manufacturer (SDNY).

Marshall has lectured at aviation, transportation, insurance and environmental seminars and has been a faculty member at the National Trial Academy of the American Bar Association. He has published numerous articles on various aspects of product liability law, aviation, insurance, trial technique and climate change law and policy.

He is a member of The Association of the Bar of the City of New York (Member, Aeronautical Committee), the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association (Chair, Commercial Transportation Litigation Committee; Vice-Chair, International Law Committee; Member, Steering Committee – Tort and Trial Practice), the National Transportation Safety Board Bar Association, the Transportation Lawyers Association (Chair, Aviation Committee) and has been a NGO delegate to the United Nations Framework conference on Climate Change.

Euromoney’s Guide to the “World’s Leading Aviation Lawyers” and “World’s Leading Product Liability Lawyers” and the “Presidential Who’s Who” have honorably listed Marshall. He was highly recommended for his work by The Legal 500 U.S., who noted Marshall as having “expertise representing manufacturers, suppliers and distributors of military products in aviation-related litigation.”  Marshall is also listed as a Leading Aviation Attorney by Aviation Expert Guides and in Who’s Who Legal: Transport.
