Scott represents international airlines, aircraft manufacturers and their insurers in complex litigation.
Scott was highly recommended for his work by Legal 500 when Condon & Forsyth was selected as one of the top aviation law firms for 2011. Scott was selected as a Southern California Super Lawyer “Rising Star” and selected by his peers as a Southern California Super Lawyer 2010. He was honorably mentioned in the 2011 and 2013 editions of The International Who’s Who of Aviation Lawyers for his “extensive skill” litigating on behalf of air carriers, manufacturers and insurers. Scott is listed as Leading Aviation Attorney by Aviation Expert Guides 2017, Who’s Who Legal – The International Who’s Who of Aviation Lawyers 2014, and was noted for his “enviable reputation” in Who’s Who Legal – Transport 2015. Scott also received a Corporate LiveWire Global Award (2015) in the category of Aerospace & Defence – Los Angeles, California.
Scott joined the Firm in 1998 and has been directly involved in the defense of several major air disaster cases, complex commercial litigation involving international air carriers, and the DVT Multidistrict litigation pending in California. Scott also was involved in the defense of the IATA air carriers for alleged violation of the California Health and Safety Code, commonly known as the “Proposition 65″ litigation.
Scott has successfully handled a significant number of appeals in both state and federal courts and prepared several petitions for writs of certiorari to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Scott is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the American Bar Association (Editorial Board member 2005-2010 for the ABA Aviation Law Quarterly), and the State Bar of California. He is also a member of the Defense Research Institute. In 2012, Scott was elected as a Committee Vice-Chairperson, Aviation Law, by the Inter-Pacific Bar Association.
